About
Shane Lease is a Partner in SAX’s Client Accounting Services Practice, where he leverages his extensive background in outsourced accounting and financial leadership to help clients optimize their financial operations and achieve scalable growth.
Before joining SAX, Shane was the CEO and Founder of SCL Consulting, an outsourced accounting firm that provided a blended portfolio of bookkeeping, controller, and CFO services to growing businesses. His prior experience also includes serving as CFO of SmartThings, an Internet of Things (IoT) company acquired by Samsung Electronics in 2014. Earlier in his career, Shane held key leadership roles as VP of Finance & Operations at FierceMarkets, a leader in B2B e-media solutions, and as CFO of the restaurant group Vapiano International, where he helped guide both companies through successful private equity buyouts.
Shane specializes in developing financial systems and processes for startups and small businesses, helping them gain clarity, control, and confidence in their financial performance.
A former Division III tennis player at Randolph-Macon College, Shane earned his degree in Latin/Classics. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active on the basketball and tennis courts and spending quality time with his wife and two children.
