About
Michael is a Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting Advisory Partner at SAX. Since joining the firm in June 2025, he has partnered with industry niche leaders across the firm on the delivery of advisory solutions, having a focus on client accounting services and fractional finance. Michael’s experience spans throughout the client service spectrum—from family offices and private equity to public companies—with particular expertise in complex accounting matters including business combinations (ASC 805), consolidations (ASC 810), impairment (ASC 360), distinguishing liabilities from equity (ASC 480), debt (ASC 470), share-based compensation (ASC 718), fair value (ASC 820), investment companies (ASC 946), lease accounting (ASC 842), and SEC compliance (10-K/10-Q filings, SOX, Reg A+).
Prior to SAX, Michael led the Real Estate Practice at Centri Business Consulting, where he built a new industry vertical for the firm while delivering technical accounting, outsourced CFO, audit readiness, and internal audit services. He spent 18 years at RSM US LLP in audit and was part of the National and Tri-State Real Estate Industry Teams. During his tenure at RSM, he was involved in training efforts in the development of a Resource Delivery Center in India. Michael holds a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from NYU’s Stern School of Business and holds a certificate in Real Estate Capital Markets from the Schack Institute of Real Estate. He is a CPA in New York and New Jersey.
Outside of work, Michael serves as the Treasurer of Urban Land Institute – Northern New Jersey District Council in addition to other committee roles. He is also a baseball enthusiast who umpires youth baseball at various age groups.
